document indexing

In today’s fileserver, thousands of documents are playing hide and seek with their users, knowing that the tools for searching over that amount of data are very rare. Even if there is a very strict directory structure for business documents, people have different approaches to use it and would store the same document in different folders.

filofant can index existing fileserver shares and provides these index by its web search front end. As with the mails and attachments a preview of the documents content is given in HTML which makes it possible to view the documents also at places where no normally necessary software has to be installed (eg. a PDA)
